IEVC is featured on a TV show called “Urban Animals” on NYC channel 22 (Optimum) or ch 25 (Verizon). Check out the program: it is a great overview of the clinic, our staff, and the very cool critters we care for. Kudos to producer Tony Sawicki for doing an amazing job on the production!


Dr. Heidi Hoefer is now an adjunct professor for Special Species at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Hoefer teaches both Pet Bird Medicine and Small Companion Mammal to the senior veterinary students every semester for 2 weeks.

Long Island Reptile Expo 2014

Island Exotic Veterinary Care has once again participated in the Reptile Expo at the Huntington Hilton March 23rd. Veterinary technicians Kelly and Heather spear-headed the project, which allowed for a day of educating owners about health and care of reptiles. Joining them was Kelly’s fiance Tim with their red tail boa, vet assistant Shana (not shown), and Drs. Hoefer and Maguire (shown with her little boy Eddie).  Kelly also brought her trio of handicapped leopard geckos.
